Really.

    Dark Plays

Thanks to the ever-so-diligent AOL, the two infamously "morbid and grotesque" play written by Cho Seung-Hui is available in its entirety online here. A tad bit over-rated (in terms of the supposed level of disturbances) though nonetheless intriguing three minutes reads, if you are remotely interested in the Virgina Tech Massacre...

Anyway, I fully concur with Stephen King...
"On the whole, I don't think you can pick these guys out based on their work, unless you look for violence unenlivened by any real talent."

    Paprika

Despite the similarities the plot shared with "The Cell" (and in actuality, tons of other much inferior productions), Satoshi Kon's latest animated film feature, "Paprika", is not to be missed.

By the by, the fabulous Susumu Hirasawa, who did a kickass job on "Paranoia Agent", is on hand for the music chores as well.

A cool looking poster won't hurt, of course.

    "O love, O celibate.
    Nobody but me
    Walks the waist high wet.
    The irreplaceable
Golds bleed and deepen, the mouths of Thermopylae."
    - Sylvia Plath,
    suicide at 31,
    faces her own Themopylae
    walking in the garden
    in the poem
    "Letter in November".

The usual post-movie ritual of researching over the source material brought me to this. Melancholic stuffs.

    Sada Abe

    Sada Abe

    Japanese cops, circa 1936.

Tough asshole, if you ask me.

Would you be smirking around with that stupid grin, if you know what's the deal with the petite lady in Kimono?

Hint hint: She actually did what most women only claimed they will do to you if they uncovered your affair.

    28 Weeks Later

In my opinion, one of the best Zombie flick ever, 28 Days Later, actually came out with a sequel. And quite nifty indeed, from "Days" to "Weeks", and should the franchise be proven strong enough, we can expect "Months" and "Years", damn, even "Decades" and "Century", but then again, that's kinda "Friday The 13th Part 9: Jason Goes To Hell".

Anyway, despite the absence from direction of Danny Boyle (who has taken the back seat of executive producer, a role which I have always been mystified), I find myself in a favourable anticipation of the sequel.

    Cool poster, by the way.

    Thus Antichrist Was Born

Just so you know the source of inspiration of my version of Antichrist...
Scientists have created the world's first human-sheep chimera - which has the body of a sheep and half-human organs.

The sheep have 15 per cent human cells and 85 per cent animal cells - and their evolution brings the prospect of animal organs being transplanted into humans one step closer.

Professor Esmail Zanjani, of the University of Nevada, has spent seven years and £5million perfecting the technique, which involves injecting adult human cells into a sheep's foetus.

He has already created a sheep liver which has a large proportion of human cells and eventually hopes to precisely match a sheep to a transplant patient, using their own stem cells to create their own flock of sheep.

The process would involve extracting stem cells from the donor's bone marrow and injecting them into the peritoneum of a sheep's foetus. When the lamb is born, two months later, it would have a liver, heart, lungs and brain that are partly human and available for transplant.

"We would take a couple of ounces of bone marrow cells from the patient,' said Prof Zanjani, whose work is highlighted in a Channel 4 programme tomorrow.

"We would isolate the stem cells from them, inject them into the peritoneum of these animals and then these cells would get distributed throughout the metabolic system into the circulatory system of all the organs in the body. The two ounces of stem cell or bone marrow cell we get would provide enough stem cells to do about ten foetuses. So you don't just have one organ for transplant purposes, you have many available in case the first one fails."

At present 7,168 patients are waiting for an organ transplant in Britain alone, and two thirds of them are expected to die before an organ becomes available.

My ZENith Moment - Currently Listening

Not exactly a ZENith moment...yet, as Nine Inch Nails' Halo 24, Year Zero, will only be launched mid April globally, thus does not count as one as it is still not in my Creative Zen, but you can enjoy the album its full entirety, via free streaming at
    NIN's Year Zero Player.
